GAITF is the only School in Region IX that provides Boarding House Subsidy Program to address the concern of students coming from Geographically Isolated and Displace Areas (GIDA) who are marginalized sector of the community, the Indigent and the Indigenous People. \u00a0This program also include students coming from critical barangays in the community. This project aimed at extending the GAITF Community\u00a0Library services to improve the life of all citizens by providing access to library services, materials and programs that promote education and cultural enrichment. The Library seeks partnership with philanthropic organizations and individuals to accomplish these tasks.
The GAITF Community Library and\u00a0E-Library\u00a0aiming to ensure access to reading materials for literate and new literate persons through the establishment of a network of Community Library and Development Centers (CLDCs) at\u00a0community level, and\u00a0Village\u00a0Reading House (VRHs) and Mobile Libraries extensions at village level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alegre designate\u00a0GAITF CMS Officer to work for the CheckMySchool Program through the initiative of the Affiliated Network for Social Accountability in East Asia and the Pacific (ANSA\u2014EAP) and the Department of Education (DepEd). GAITF join the fight in Protecting Filipino Children’s Right. \u00a0Child protection is the protection of children from violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect.\u00a0This\u00a0policy<\/em>\u00a0assists staff to respond appropriately where there is a concern for a\u00a0child’s<\/em> wellbeing or a disclosure of\u00a0abuse<\/em>. Everyone in the education service plays a part in keeping children and young people safe from harm and abuse. Creating a safe learning environment, identifying pupils who are suffering or at risk of harm and then taking suitable action, are vital to making sure that children are safe at home and at school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GAITF is supporting on Indigenous rights and those rights that exist in recognition of the specific condition of the indigenous peoples. In response to these challenges, the Philippine government has passed the\u00a0Indigenous Peoples\u2019 Rights Act (IPRA)<\/a>\u00a0of 1997, which affirms\u00a0Indigenous Peoples\u2019 rights to ancestral domains, self-governance and empowerment, social justice and human rights, and rights to cultural identity. Ten years later, in 2007, the UN General Assembly adopted the\u00a0United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)<\/a>, which provides a framework for the survival, dignity, well-being and rights of the world\u2019s Indigenous Peoples, and strengthens their rights to identity, education, health, employment and language, amongst others. More recently, the United Nations adopted\u00a0Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals<\/a>, which also include the rights and well-being of Indigenous Peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
