Everyone in the education service plays a part in keeping children and young people safe from harm and abuse. Creating a safe learning environment, identifying pupils who are suffering or at risk of harm and then taking suitable action, are vital to making sure that children are safe at home and at school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#cfcabe\" class=\"has-inline-color\">SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR INDIGENOUS PEOPLES (IPS)<\/mark><\/strong><\/span><br><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1109\" style=\"width: 300px;\" src=\"https:\/\/home.gaitf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/indigenouse.jpg\" alt=\"\"><br>GAITF is supporting on Indigenous rights and those rights that exist in recognition of the specific condition of the indigenous peoples.  In response to these challenges, the Philippine government has passed the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/extwprlegs1.fao.org\/docs\/pdf\/phi13930.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indigenous Peoples\u2019 Rights Act (IPRA)<\/a>\u00a0of 1997, which affirms\u00a0Indigenous Peoples\u2019 rights to ancestral domains, self-governance and empowerment, social justice and human rights, and rights to cultural identity. Ten years later, in 2007, the UN General Assembly adopted the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/esa\/socdev\/unpfii\/documents\/DRIPS_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)<\/a>, which provides a framework for the survival, dignity, well-being and rights of the world\u2019s Indigenous Peoples, and strengthens their rights to identity, education, health, employment and language, amongst others.
